Breakfast Attendant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cook and prepare the set-up for breakfast
  • Maintain stock of breakfast foods during breakfast hours
  • Maintain cleanliness of the breakfast area during and after breakfast hours
  • Maintain temperature log book updated daily
  • Clean and maintain oven, stove top, refrigerator and all other equipment on daily basis
  • Assist AGM in daily, weekly and monthly food and other supplies inventory
  • Clean and maintain daily the dry and cold storage
  • Responsible to maintain all food and beverage dated with date received in all dry and cold storage areas
  • Prepare and stock everything needed for following day
  • Assist in the set-up of meeting rooms and banquets (if applicable)
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the meeting room during and after the meeting (if applicable)
  • Clean the breakfast area and other gatehouse public areas thoroughly each day, according to Systems Standards
  • Notify supervisor of any problems with gatehouse/breakfast after cleaning
  • Accommodate guest special requests courteously
  • Answer guest questions regarding hotel and local area facilities and services
  • Operate all kitchen and breakfast room equipment in correctly and safely
  • Know hotel emergency procedures
  • Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys
  • Bring all lost and found items to the housekeeping office for logging and proper storage
  • Wear proper uniform at all times
  • Wear protective gear when handling food and chemicals
  • Carry out any reasonable request by management if capable of performing
  • Complete maintenance work orders and deliver to designated area in a timely manner
  • Complete special cleaning projects as needed

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Order, shop for, prepare and set-up breakfast food
  • Train employees on proper chemical safety
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Prepare menus for the upcoming week and month
  • May prioritize work daily.
  • Any other decisions outside normal practice guidelines

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma preferred

Work Experience

  • Previous stable work history, preferably in the hospitality area

Technical Skills

  • Writing and reading skills
  • Must understand prevalent language spoke by guests

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to assist with pushing and pulling of large or awkward objects
  • Must be able to stand for up to 6-8 hours daily
  • Must be capable of standing, kneeling, squatting, bending and sitting repeatedly
  • May lift up to 40 pounds alone
  • Must be able to stand on or climb ladders and stepstools
