Job Overview:



A Senior Consultant, Organization & Process Optimization (OPO) is responsible for facilitating changes with respect to Macys culture, processes, and people, inclusive of our technology, product management, support and creative teams, both independently and where they interface together. The fundamental function of this role is to optimize the value added by the various teams to eliminate waste, increase productivity, and drive employee engagement. This is a highly cross-functional role with many touch points across the Macys organization. Perform other duties as assigned.



Essential Functions:



• Evaluate areas of inefficiency – reactively (taking suggestions from the senior management team) and proactively (by working with the various teams to understand where we have areas for improvement).

• Once the targeted areas are identified, the candidate will be expected to fully immerse themselves into the existing workflow, understand the nuances of the business and the root cause of the inefficiency.

• Independently lead development of solutions, and be empowered to work in-depth with all teams involved to improve processes, workflows, policies, and defining roles and responsibilities within a given process.

• Facilitate discovery and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to understand & prioritize root cause issues, dependencies, & risks.

• Define project success metrics and work with OPO and business leadership to gain alignment around success metrics.

• Design new or improved process, workflow, or policies in collaboration with business partners – including forums and artifacts.

• Drive organizational adoption of new roles & responsibilities, processes, artifacts, forums – including appropriate training sessions for individuals and teams.

• Measurement & hind sighting of success metrics – including identification of necessary tweaks, next steps, etc. to optimize.

• Facilitate individual and cross-functional group working sessions.

• Proficient with change management frameworks and best practices.

• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Qualifications:



Education/Experience:



• Bachelor’s Degree . BA/BSc is a plus.

• 5 years relevant merchant, product, logistics, finance or general operation experience.

• Project Management experience with a solutions oriented mind-set.

• 5-7 years of experience in Ecommerce business with a firm understanding of the development lifecycle or expertise in a specific business function.

• Experience to uncover patterns & understand nuances, while keeping in mind the overarching goal and manage cross-functional working team to achieve desired outcomes.

• Business acumen, experience with large companies.



Communication Skills:



• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

• Active listening & relationship building are a must, as the teams must be able to trust the candidate.



Reasoning Ability:



• Self-starter, highly energized by new challenges.

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Problem solving – ability to determine root cause and define tactical approach for optimization.

• Analytical capabilities - ability to uncover patterns & understand nuances, while keeping in mind the overarching goal.



Physical Demands:



• This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.

• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

• May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.

• Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

• May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.
