Job Description Summary:
Find peace, quiet and wide-open spaces at Doral Arrowwood, the premier Resort and Conference Center in Westchester County. Responsible for the deep cleaning, floor care and carpet shampoo of all guest rooms and guest house hallways, public space, meeting rooms, back of the house hallways, stairways, restaurant, offices, pre-function areas, public and employee restrooms/locker rooms.

Job Description: QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Janitorial Experience preferred.
  • Housekeeping experience desirable.
  • Must be able to work with various cleaning chemicals and follow Hazard Communication standards.
  • Knowledge of cleaning machinery.
  • Neat, pleasant personality.
  • Ability to work with heavy cleaning machinery.
  • Ability to work on feet for an extended period.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read, understand basic instructions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Cleans guest rooms windows on the inside and polish window sills.
  • Washes closet shelves and edge vacuum closet carpeting.
  • High dusts walls and light fixtures. Remove spots from walls.
  • Cleans bathroom ventilation grills and fluorescent light fixtures.
  • Scrub bathroom floors, with the emphasis on the grouting.
  • Move beds and all other furniture. Vacuum carpeting under bed and furniture and edge vacuum carpeting.
  • Shampoo upholstery on sofa and chairs as needed.
  • Shampoo carpeting in guest house hallways.
  • Responsible for cleaning entire lobby area, including vacuuming carpets, cleaning walls, cleaning entrance areas, strip and polish floors (monthly), washing glass doors. Clean Front Office area, shampoo carpets as needed, clean windowsills, polish furniture and polish brass.
  • Clean public restrooms including washing mirrors, cleaning light fixtures, polishing louver doors, mopping floors, polishing floors (monthly), re-stock paper supplies and scrubbing toilets.
  • Clean all pre-function areas, including vacuuming carpets, shampooing carpets (monthly), clean and polish drinking fountains, cleaning entrance doors, polishing metal thresholds and removing marks from the walls.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restaurant, clean floors and apply finish (monthly), remove chewing gum from furniture and carpeting, spot cleaning carpeting – shampoo monthly, vacuum carpeting nightly, clean and polish wooden fixtures, clean baseboards, spot clean walls, clean and polish banquets, chairs, table, window sills. Responsible for cleaning spots on windows and high dusting of wooden walls.
  • Thorough cleaning of Health and Fitness Center, clean showers, toilets, mirrors, vacuum locker rooms, re-fill all paper and tissue dispensers, vacuum exercise room, dust and clean artwork, dust and clean the tops of all lockers. Clean saunas, spa walls and spa floor.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the Activity Center and Game Room.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the Spa Rooms, including cleaning floors twice a week and polishing floors once a month.
  • Checks and cleans all public restrooms, including the Golf restrooms, on a frequent basis throughout the day/evening, replacing paper supplies as needed.
  • Checks, cleans and re-stocks employee restrooms two times daily.
  • Ensures constant monitoring and replacement of telephone message pads and pens at all public telephones.
  • Vacuum massage rooms twice a week.
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of all equipment and machinery.
  • Remain alert, courteous and helpful to guests always.
  • Practice safety standards always.
  • Return all lost and found articles to Housekeeping Office.
  • Demonstrate “Be the Difference” attitude with employees/guest.
  • Maintains a neat appearance of work cart.
Position needed is for overnight shift, including weekends.
