About the Warehouse Receiving Manager

 

A key pillar of our business is deploying logistics solutions for unique, variable inventory across our growing list of partners. In order to be successful, we must develop a world-class processing and fulfillment center.

 

We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Receiving Manager who is interested in applying years of traditional experience to the unique challenges of the one-of-kind items we manage. The Warehouse Receiving Manager is charged with planning, directing, and coordinating all operations as they relate to inventory receipt, processing, and photography.

 

Key Objectives

 

  • Build enterprise level systems: Our warehouse processes are set by the Operations Team and the WMS is built to our specifications to support our needs. We receive, stock, and fulfill a variety of consumer goods, from snow shoes to designer blouses, and treat them all uniquely. Our processes and software are effective, but early stage - there is limitless space to build and improve as we add partners.
  • Lead the receiving team: You will set the direction and vision for receiving and photography, and effectively communicate to Warehouse Team Leads, Warehouse Associates, and Photography Associates. Develop the Warehouse Team by building upon their strengths, maintaining team morale, and redirecting issues towards a productive outcome.
  • Attract and hire top talent: Partner with the Warehouse Fulfillment Manager to develop a strategic vision and talent plan for attracting, hiring and developing talent to meet our talent goals. Be an active player in identifying and assessing talent. Tap into your rich professional network to attract talent to your organization.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Fulfillment Manager: Talent and resources are shared are shared across receiving and fulfillment functions in order to accomodate variable workloads. You will collaborate with the Warehouse Fulfillment Manager to train and share talent.
  • Reporting and analysis: Leverage data to inform opportunities for productivity and process improvement. Work with our Business Analytics team to create the insights needed to make informed decisions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the expansion of our layout and workflows, identifying the necessary changes in equipment, schedules, and team to accommodate company growth
  • Oversee associate safety by establishing processes and practices that are focused on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
  • Manage and direct a growing team of 15+ Warehouse Associates, Photographers, and Team Leads
  • Compile and report on KPIs related to receiving volumes, throughput, and efficiency


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field of study.
  • 5 years previous experience in a distribution center managing teams of 10 or more
  • Proven leadership skills hiring, managing, and developing a team
  • Active and sociable leader that cares not only what gets done, but how it gets done
  • Ability to work across business business areas including software, product, and customer support
  • Insure compliance with company, OSHA, and other workplace regulations
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to drive results
