The Dispatch Center functions as the Vail Mountain communications hub linking many of the operations departments. Dispatch Center personnel are responsible for providing exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers through their daily activities.  The primary responsibility of dispatch personnel is to act as an alarm monitoring agency for Vail Resorts owned and operated facilities. The Dispatch Center is operated on a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week, 365 day per year basis

 

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Monitor alarm systems and notify appropriate local agencies to ensure adequate response to emergency situations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest and employee concerns and requests, realizing that these will not always fall within the scope of departmental responsibilities. Make every effort to provide exemplary customer service to internal and external guests.
  • Coordinates and distributes daily snow and weather reports and follow Vail Mountain Ski Patrol criteria for avalanche control call out during the ski season.
  • Dispatches relevant information for all Vail Mountain personnel via radio or email in a timely fashion.
  • Operates and monitors remote access control programs & video surveillance systems for facilities.
  • Identify Dispatch Center specific concerns and delegate proper work orders and possible solutions.
  • Receives and tracks change orders for Vail Mt Dining and Ticket Operations and ensures delivery.
  • Oversees Vail Mountain radio loaner pool.  Tracks all Vail Mt. incoming and outgoing radios in need of repair.
  • Coordinates with the Mt Information Center to track lost and found items.
  • Track Security Patroller's location & activity throughout shift, and maintain various logs.
  • Maintaining, monitoring, and entering new accounts in Alarm Center
  • Assist in parking enforcement through boot tracking, payment and patroller communication
  • Manage mountain access procedures for contractors and vendors
  • Be familiar with first-aid supplies to be able to coordinate deliveries to outside departments
  • Assist other Mountain dispatch staff in communicating lift activity via email
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED - required.
  • Computer proficiency - required.
  • Good written and verbal communication - required.
  • Must be fluent in English- required.
  • Able to work any day of the week and overnight shifts - required.
  • Able to get to work without direct supervision - required.
  • Operable personal phone service - required.
  • Intimate knowledge of Vail Mountain Operations and facilities helpful - preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Town of Vail - perferred
