Store Manager Description:

  • Lead store retail and commercial sales activities in order to achieve sales and profit goals. Positively contribute to growth and development of the store team through training communication, recognition and support.

Store Manager Duties:

  • Perform all duties of Sales Associates
  • Ensure retail and commercial selling programs and promotions are demonstrated, taught and executed
  • Merchandising to approved plan-o-grams, shelf price labeling, implement product changeovers
  • Manage store inventory and shrinkage / loss prevention
  • Generate commercial customer leads through in-store prospecting and outside sales calls
  • Provide follow-up service to commercial customers at acceptable service levels
  • Manage store deliveries
  • Personnel Management
  • Supervise and develop Assistant Managers and Store Associates through training, coaching, and recognition
  • Perform timely evaluations and implement corrective measures when appropriate
  • Demonstrate, train and enforce all safety rules and regulations and company policies

Store Manager Qualifications

  • Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent; Advanced degree in business or retail management preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of retail sales management experience, commercial (outside) sales experience is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage difficult retail situations in a controlled and courteous manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good technical aptitude with a desire to learn battery basics including various chemistries and their benefits and limitations.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including peak seasons and special events. This includes the ability to work at multiple store locations, as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
