Job Description:

BASIC FUNCTION:  The Recreation Attendant participates in all functions of the Recreation Department including Activities Center, daily events, and, Lake Austin Pier and Water Park.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

v  High school graduate or equivalent.

v  Previous recreation background

v  Ability to communicate effectively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Overall:

o    Must be well groomed, with nametag on at all times while working on the property.

o    Must be well-mannered, display a helpful attitude, greet guests when encountered, show appreciation to the guest for being at the resort, show willingness to help guests and employees at all times.

o    Must coordinate operation of Activities with other departments in the resort.

o    Must be open to new training and experiences. 

o    Provides information on park and resort activities and policies.

o    Provide assistance in other job classifications as determined necessary by immediate superior.

o    Be The Difference attitude to be displayed at all times. Providing memorable moments and exceeding guest, employee and owner expectations.

o    Clear and concise communication to be delivered with a positive and professional attitude at all times; with guests, employees, owners and vendors.

Marina Activities:

o    Rent fishing equipment to prospective guests of the marina.  Ensures that all documentation is complete prior to acceptance.  Gives guidance to perspective slip renters.

o    Rent boats to guests of the marina.  Trains guests in the safe and lawful operation of boats on the lake. 

o    Performs the duties of cashier.  Maintains appropriate paperwork.  Completes shift paperwork within Resort Accounting guidelines.  Must be adept at handling money and filling out the coordinating paperwork.

o    Participates in inventory collection.

o    Clean marina, boats, and dock.  Performs all cleaning duties as pertaining to the rental fleet

o    Must possess a working knowledge of watercraft.

o    Must be able to thoroughly clean boats using potentially harmful chemicals to the skin (i.e. bleach).

Activities Center and schedule:

o    Implement a daily Activities Guide to include Kid’s programs, Poolside events, special events, and other Recreational programs

o    Maintain and inventory Activities Center on a daily basis, including Arts & Crafts, kid’s camps, and indoor events. 

o    Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests and

Pool and Amenity Maintenance:

o    Maintain resort pool decks including towel inventory, cabana rentals, and cleanliness

o    Perform daily safety and cleanliness checks on all recreational equipment including Fitness Center, Sport Courts, and water park

o    Provide safety instruction and supervision to guests at the Surfari waterslides and splash pad. 

ENVIRONMENT:

Working both indoors and outdoors. Outside in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.
