Summary To manage the Safeway.com department on a day-to-day basis to ensure a consistently first class service is maintained for all customers throughout the day. Main Activities •The Department Manager spends the majority of their time selecting orders and ensuring the processing/delivery of customers orders are completed to standards and within set timelines. •They will also provide excellent customer service while complying with company policies and procedures; dealing efficiently and effectively with customer’s requests for information, questions and complaints. •They will be responsible for staff schedules, training and reviews within the department. •They will be responsible for tracking the department budgets and Key Performance Indicators The main activities are summarized below: -Ensure all daily/weekly routines are adhered to including the completion of the department logbooks to demonstrate due diligence with regard to legal compliance. -To monitor the processing of all customers orders to ensure customers receive all products that have been ordered/charged for. -To select customers orders. -To monitor/review the picking of orders to ensure time commitments are met. -To ensure the correct loading of vans -To maintain all systems effectively, including the Mapping and communicate with IT support -To communicate with drivers/Customer Service Center to ensure customers receive excellent customer service. -To deal with customer service issues, questions and complaints to a satisfactory conclusion for all customers. -To be responsible for scheduling of staff within the department budget. -To ensure staff training is completed and training records kept up-to-date. -To work with other department’s in-store to ensure effective communication of out of stocks and quality of products. -Communicates with Operations Managers as necessary to ensure department standards, goals and expectations are met -Communication with Operations Managers regarding driver issues (i.e. scheduling/customer service) -Conducts team meetings to communicate company information, policy changes, department metrics, etc. Main Responsibilities •To ensure all equipment is used according to the company standard and manufacturers guidelines in order to ensure safety and minimize damage. •To be responsible for ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the department. •To complete all management checks highlighting areas of risk and training needs. •For all training within the department.
