Production Coach

We're searching for a Production Coach on night shift for a company in Buford, GA.

Position Summary/overview:
Supervises up to 20 employees on shift. Lead, motivate and develop team to ensure planned output requirements and quality standards are met while ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed. Acts in the absence of the Department Manager to ensure the continuous, safe operation of the production process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees
2. Ensure security of facilities during designated shift hours
3. Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards and check finished products to ensure quality
4. Draws in resources as necessary to ensure proper training, and quality for all employees on shift.
5. Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards
6. Ensure all employees are trained and following defined procedures
7. Create work schedule for workers, approve leave and ensure required staffing levels are met
8. Enable effective communications between management and operators
9. Review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement, and encourage progress of individual team members through coaching development and performance review. Deliver agreed upon personal development plans.
10. Achieve shift KPI targets e.g. for yield, quality, productivity, etc.
11. Develop team-working across the factory, applying continuous improvement principles.
12. Ensure regular communication/briefings to provide the team with relevant information to maximize shift productivity.
13. Contribute to the planning, organization, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory.
14. Maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with 5S protocol
15. Investigate and report all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance)
16. Keep records of workers performance, complete employee annual reviews.
17. Ensure that work materials are present when needed.
18. Accurately complete all required shift documentation
19. Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Decision-Making Latitude:
Makes decisions regarding 1) inventory levels; 2) scheduling of work and type(s) of material to be used in production process; 3) corrective action(s) for defective products, including changes to SOP’s 4) whether and when it is necessary to shut a machine down; 5) rejecting product that is not in compliance; 6) performance reviews, 7) disciplinary actions up to written warning stage.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
  • Certified LSS Green Belt preferred
Schedule with be either:

Sunday-Tuesday, every other Wednesday 7:00PM-7:00AM

Thursday-Saturday, every other Wednesday 7:00PM-7:00AM
