Staffmark is looking for a Lab Technician to join our team at a one of the world's leading energy companies, with approximately 60,000 employees working in countries around the world. This company explores, produces and transports crude oil and natural gas; refines, market and distribute fuels and other energy products; manufacture and sells petrochemical products; generates power; and develops future energy resources, including biofuels and geothermalenergy.

Overview: This position will conduct lab work for the testing of FCC catalysts under the direction of researchers


Operate complex, small-scale catalyst testing equipment with on-line GCs which may operate at elevated temperature and pressure. The equipment is highly automated and requires skill in use of computer system.


Obtain oil and catalyst samples from both refiners and vendors


Make test runs and sample evaluations according to engineer instruction


Collect and submit samples for analysis


Communicate test results to supervisor


Handle basic calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting for test equipment


Identify opportunities for improvement and submit recommendations


Maintain a safe, healthfyl and environmentally compliant laboratory


Keep chemical inventory and safety inspection records current and accurate.


Actively document work processes and results to ensure proper Intellectual Property Protection

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


•Experience in laboratory work handling chemicals and equipment in a safe and efficient manner


•Mechanical skills for assembling simple piping and equipment


•Prefer experience with


â—¦Laboratory work utilizing chemicals, glassware, and bench scale unit equipment


â—¦Operation of bench scale testing equipment including basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.


â—¦Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word


â—¦Minimum a chemistry course or two

•Strong teamwork behavior


•Ability to work with multiple tasks at the same time


•Strong Commitment to OE in lab and office environment [Strong Safety and House keeping Record]


•Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key Chevron colleges outside their immediate work group
