About this job

The purpose of the Educational Sales Rep is to execute sales and service within an established market by developing, maintaining and growing a successful and profitable school rental and sales network. This person is charged with creating demand, locating customers, establishing and maintaining internal and external customer relationships to meet or exceed our rental and sales goals now and in the future.  
 

Grow the marketand increase sales by prospecting for new schools and affiliates within the market.

  • Meet or exceed budgeted rental and sales objectives within a specific market while keeping focus on our primary objectives of:
    • Total customer satisfaction
    • Inventory Control (protect the assets of the company with strict adherence to our policies and procedures
    • Selling products or services at a cost that creates profit to the company.

Assist in establishing rental and sales targets for each school, continuously developing relationships with our education customers.

By maintaining a consistent school visit schedule, meet with music educators, and other customers within these facilities in order to solicit sales, bids and contracts for Music & Arts goods or services. Also, find new potential customers within the assigned territory to solicit for business.

To accomplish this, the representative should:

  • Promptly respond to all forms of customer communication
  • Make and keep appointments
  • Maintain a professional image and have clear sales objectives in mind for each visit.
  • Provide ample assistance in schools beginner recruitment process in order to grow and maintain school rentals and sales market share.
  • Build relationships with all music educators in each school to drive not only B&O instrument sales and repairs, but also print music, combo instruments/accesories, and general music sales
  • Engage students within the schools to drive more sales to our stores, affiliates, school sales events or offsite sales events,
  • Engage students and parents within the schools to promote and drive more lessons to our stores..

 

Confer with internal teams on an ongoing basis in the following areas:

  • Discuss opportunities for growth: Personal career path, market, customer base, people and additional music products
  • Establish Competitive Rental Rates
  • Market Analysis
  • Competitive Analysis
  • Policy and Procedure Compliance
  • Professional Sales Techniques
  • Advertising and Promotion
  • Search and Recruitment of New Employees

Document all important activities to insure information vital to success of the company or the store is reported to the appropriate individual or department

  • Expenses -- Weekly
  • Customer Communication -- Daily
  • Competitive Information -- Monthly Review 

     

    • Ability to effectively manage a customer base with strong organizational skills and minimal supervision
    • Good communication skills, verbal and written
    • Ability to learn company systems and processes and use them effectively
    • Must use strong problem-solving skills while promoting goodwill with our rental program, sales and overall customer satisfaction

      Standard office and computer equipment including MS Office software.

    • There will be some pushing, pulling and lifting required to load and/or deliver product from the Music & Arts Center warehouse to the schools or customers, up to 50 lbs. of weight.  
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
