Summary

Provides regional safety support and consultation to Logistics operations. Provides safety support to all aspects of the logistics business including pipelines, terminals, trucking and rail operations. Supports logistics line management by implementing procedures and work processes that comply with government requirements, Andeavor standards, and industry best practices. Implements programs that reduce injuries and mitigates safety risk.

Responsibilities

  • Provides regional support and is accountable to ensure safety programs and processes drive year over year continuous improvement of safety performance.

 

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and Andeavor safety requirements and is accountable to provide quality guidance and support on all Health and Safety regulatory compliance matters.

 

  • Contributes to regional and company health and safety strategy. Understands what tasks are occurring within the region and is routinely present in the field monitoring and auditing critical safety procedures (hot work, confined space, excavation, energy control, etc.) and providing immediate feedback to employees and management.

 

  • Implements safety and health programs for the region and designs regional safety strategies focused on incident prevention and risk reduction.

 

  • Develops, conducts and measures safety training and education. Collaborates with leadership and team members to ensure adequate training levels are achieved and are compliant with applicable regulations and company requirements. Develops and shares best practices across the region and company.

 

  • Analyzes and ensures proper emergency response preparedness for the region.

 

  • Provides leadership and guidance on all health programs for the region and ensures that these programs are properly overseen and managed (i.e., industrial hygiene, medical monitoring, physicals, and injury case management).

 

  • Serves as one of the principal incident investigators and manages the incident management program for the region. Works with regulators and represents Andeavor during agency interactions and inspections.
