Job Description

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Services Nursing Supervisor assists with management of patient care activities and assigned staff.

Responsibilities:

Provides direction and support to unit staff.
Supervises admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and initiates nursing care plans.
Evaluates and documents patient progress.

Facilitates planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit.

Assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures.

Serves as a liaison between the manager, staff and other areas within the organization.
Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of patient care services in a unit.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

Required Credential(s): Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Licensed Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s):Certification specializing in Advanced Cardio Life Support.

Education:

Minimum Qualification: Associate's Degree in Nursing by hire date to position

Preferred Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing by hire date to position
 

Work Experience:

Minimum Qualification: Two years of experience working as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a hospital setting.

Preferred Qualification: Five years of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a hospital setting. Experience as a charge nurse.
One year of experience directly supervising staff.
