Description New England Cancer Specialists has an opening for a full time Medical Assistant in our Kennebunk office.
This position is responsible for maintaining efficient patient flow and participates with the medical team in providing patient care. Job Duties : * Room patients * Take patient histories * Take patient vital signs * Draw blood * Assist with procedures * Do EKGs * Venipuncture * Skin punctures * Insurance pre-authorization * Enter orders into the CPOE for medication, laboratory and radiology services * Scheduling procedures * Scheduling appointments Weekends: Infrequent this position will participate with other medical assistants in the weekend urgent care coverage (one weekend every three months), at our Scarborough office. Travel: Rare Requirements * Certificate of completion from an accredited program for Medical Assistant * GED or High school diploma * Certified Medical Assistant preferred * Experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant in a hospital or outpatient clinic. * Prefer previous experience with insurance prio-authorization, medication refills, and preparing charts.
