Aerotek is hiring for a Manufacturing Test Technician
Applicant will apply engineering theory and practical knowledge, under minimal direction of engineering staff, to build, test, and/or repair opto-mechanical and opto-electrical devices.
Typical day is involves testing product on functional tester, troubleshooting issues, attending production meetings, and possibly some assembly. The team consists of 7-8 production assemblers and test technicians but has the support of managers, engineers, and quality personnel. The goal of the team is to produce 4-5 units per week. The production assemblers build the product and the test techs perform functional tests and calibration as well as troubleshooting defective parts
Key Skills:
* Ability to work on assignments of moderate difficulty, requiring their judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
* Demonstrate substantial familiarity with automated test procedures and general aspects of test theory with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the role.
* Possess the capability to quickly assess when measured and calculated results are reasonable and not grossly in error.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting test equipment and electro-mechanical devices and determining the appropriate action required to get the equipment repaired.
* The ability to understand company policies and procedures to complete tasks.
* Comfortable using software tools for data analysis and reporting.
* Normally receives little instruction on daily work and routine tasks. Receives detailed instructions on newly introduced assignments.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Experience using Windows applications and Microsoft Excel
- Associates degree (preferred) otherwise HS Diploma/Equivalent and at least 2 years of test technician experience
- Alignment and image quality optics experience desired
