Hiring a CAM Programmer to join our team! This role will be programming 90% of the time on the vertical turning centers. All the programming is offline.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes engineering drawings, solid models, sketches, and design data of part to determine operation and program requirements.
  • Creates and maintains NC programs for machine tools
  • Creates outline/process sheets used to machine a part
  • Maintains catalog of tooling used at each facility and establishes sourcing of tooling
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and carries out improvement actions
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure capability of meeting part requirements. Leads or assists projects to upgrade, replace, and procure new equipment.
  • Read and interpret product design drawings, standards and specifications.
  • Participate in pre-production product design reviews and concurrent engineering efforts to ensure manufacturability of the product design.
  • Determine drawing content (views, sections, details) needed to support production.
  • Identify product design drawing errors and improvement opportunities and facilitate changes through the RFPD system and other means.
  • Develop, maintain, and document programs for numerically controlled machines using CAM software or other available means of generating and maintaining G- and M- code
  • Establishes machine speeds and feed rates, configuration of cuts, and tool paths. Maintains solid models used for generation of toolpath and NC code in manufacturing database and program files in machine operator accessible database
  • Create and maintain process sheets, including program sequence outline with descriptions, cutting tool lists, setup sheets, setup sketched/drawings, and process change log.

Qualifications:

  • Programming experience on a vertical turning center
  • 1+ years experience programming with one of the softwares: AutoCAD,MasterCAM, Solidworks, Gibbs Cam, eCAM, BobCad-Cam
  • Ability to work between multiple groups wtihin an organization
  • Experience utilizing 3D software
