About this job

Assembly Engineer:

* Comply with all company and departmental policies and guidelines.
* Assist with investment planning in assigned department.
* Assist in the start-up of new projects.
* Assist in the quotes on existing projects.
* Create and update required process documentation.
* Assist in developing layout and material flow plans.
* Interface with product engineering, customers, and suppliers to develop prototype and production parts.
* Help with creation of specifications for tools, fixtures, gages, equipment, and processes.
* Help troubleshoot and improve equipment issues.
* Test tools, fixtures, gages, equipment, and processes.
* Work with Engineering to specify gaging techniques.
* Coordinate quality improvements within assembly.
* Actively participate in process improvement team efforts.
* Actively participate in cross-functional improvement team efforts.
* Provide technical guidance and training to the production team.
* Keep abreast of latest developments in automated assembly and manufacturing field.
* Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
* Analyze Not Right First Time (NRFT) issues in the assembly process and develop countermeasures to correct discrepant levels.
* Assist with APQP documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans)
