About this job

Fashion/Apparel/Textile Specialist will perform fabric, garment, and home textiles testing and product evaluation to determine whether the sample meets the appropriate standards based on a set of predetermined criteria. Interns will also assist in writing technical reports to support the test results.

Responsibilities include:


Evaluate fabric/garment appearance for manufacturing defects, sewing flaws, and decoration flaws.


Identify types of knit, woven fabrics.


Determining color shading and consistency of printing.


Preparing reports using Excel.


Communicating with co-workers and other lab associates.


Using organizational skills and time management to ensure baskets are completed by the specified due date.


Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited Apparel, Textile, Fashion, or Product Development program at a college or university preferred but not required.
??? Achieve a Total Error Score (TES) of 40 or less on an administered hue test.
??? Must be able to use hands to handle or feel fabric; regularly required to stand, walk, sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
??? Must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds.
