Jobs Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic manager with purchasing experience who is seeking to enhance their career in the Food Service industry. The Assistant Director of Dining Services/Purchasing is responsible for assisting in the successful operation, purchasing and receiving of goods and supplies of the food service department within a Long Term Care Facility. The Assistant Director of Dining Services/Purchasing will help ensure client satisfaction to ensure efficient cost effective management using the software “Computrition” to requisition food and supplies and prepare financial modules. This position works between the central warehouse and multiple kitchens, ensuring successful opening and closing of the kitchens. This position will also assist in the responsibility of patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all facility-related activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus three (3) years of directly related experience preferred
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Computrition or other Food Service software experience desired. Will train candidate with strong software and spreadsheet skills.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
- Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable
- Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels
- Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills
- ServSafe® Certified
- Certified Dietary Manager certificate preferred
