Our Vision for this Role

As a Category Manager – IT you’ll act as a strategic partner to the IT business partners on commercial term negotiations. You will work with them to apply best in class sourcing processes and demonstrate your knowledge of our off-price business model through the guidance you offer during the supplier selection and cost negotiation process. This role has an impact on supplier relationship management, contract and compliance, in addition to adding value to the business and supporting various Business Partners across the Global organization

Global Strategic Sourcing:

• Leads cross functional, global teams in the execution of medium to large strategic sourcing initiatives and the implementation of IT category strategies. Collaborates with business partners and other internal business partners to achieve savings goals and drive value
• Collects and actively challenges current product or service requirements; presents new sourcing strategies to drive cost savings; recommends new ways to manage demand or improve the process
• Looks for demand management opportunities and to leverage multi-divisional requirements and aggregate spend to create larger sourcing pools to increase savings and value to TJX
• Prepares and executes negotiation plans and involves TJX legal and business partners as necessary
• Uses state of the art automated sourcing processes including but not limited to auctions, RFX’s and relationship management systems
• Collaborates with Global Operations in populating sourcing events into Oracle’s Sourcing module, makes decisions on sourcing event structure, supplier pool, selection criteria and event outcome criteria
• Participates in execution of contracts and ensuring compliance to TJX Approval Authority Schedule and Audit requirements.
• Actively participates in Global Category Management Team within the IT space.
• Ensures a compliant source to pay process is in place for all initiatives
• Implements communication strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to leaders, business partners and suppliers
• Executes against supplier relationship management programs.
  

Global Supplier Management:

• Manages strategic supplier relationships in the IT space for assigned areas
• Maintains fair, courteous and productive relationship with all TJX suppliers and reinforces TJX’s positive brand image within the supplier community
• Systemically and strategically searches for innovative products, services, approaches and strategic models to support TJX low-cost, best value strategy
  

Global Contract Compliance:

• Manages TJX contract compliance within the IT category and identifies opportunities for improvement within the functions and operating divisions
  

Global Business Partner Management:

• Stewards the value created by Global Sourcing and Procurement and collaborative teams to business partners and senior management to help reinforce commitment and involvement

The Skills that will Make You Successful

• 5+ year’s strategic sourcing experience; Category Expertise IT Software categories required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Preferred certifications: CPSM, SCMP or CIPS.
• Oracle or similar e-sourcing/P2P experience/knowledge.
• Exceptional Microsoft Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experienced presenting to varying levels of leadership across the organization.
• Relationships are the glue and the grease here at TJX; the ability to build and maintain strong relationships will be key to your success and ability to influence.
• Strong business acumen and people management skills
• Experience/track record in managing multi-national business partners and suppliers.
