Senior Learning and Development Specialist

Marmaxx Distribution Services

Develops, implements, evaluates and adjusts solutions to identified Learning and Development needs of individuals, client groups, and the general Distribution Network population. Leveraging project manager skills acts as a resource for and takes ownership of internal programs and materials. Implements programs on targeted topics, such as leadership skills, onboarding and functional training using adult learning theory and accelerated learning techniques. Maintains and supports company values.

Responsibilities:

Evaluates, anticipates and responds to the Learning and Development needs of the Distribution population- both Associate and Leaders, which includes conducting needs assessments; providing recommendations based upon assessment findings, creation of work and project plans; design of appropriate solutions (training programs, individual/manager coaching, group facilitation, etc.); by using network-wide learning strategies to meet the needs of the entire population and learning styles. Evaluates results and adjusts program as needed.

Facilitates training sessions and orientations. Ensures Distribution Center leadership and non-Exempt orientation and onboarding are conducted on a timely basis.

Evaluates, designs and adjusts Distribution Network Learning curriculum as well as the processes associated with that curriculum, to meet identified business needs and support the people strategy.

Partners with the broader Distribution Services Marmaxx Learning and Development and Manager of HR as needed (through coaching, co-facilitation, contributions to projects, etc.) Consults with L&D Manager, Home Office L&D, Manager of Human Resources, L&D Specialists, and other key stakeholders on a regular basis to assess effectiveness of current training programs

Evaluates, designs and adjusts Distribution Network standardized development curriculum and processes to meet identified business needs. Provides management with recommendations on the design, development and delivery of training/development solutions.

Keeps abreast of current trends and best practices within the Learning and Development industry to continually bring fresh ideas and approaches. Regularly participates in professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

2-4 years’ experience in Learning and Development

Strong project management skills

Ability to excel in a matrixed work environment.

Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

Excellent problem solving skills

Strong presentation skills

Knowledge of conducting needs analyses, instructional course design and Adult Learning Theory

Strong Coaching skills including the ability to give positive and constructive feedback.
