Solution Engineer II

We have an immediate opening for a strong, hands on Solution Engineer II to join our North American Supply Chain Solution Delivery team. In this role you’ll will assist with leading the Supply Chain Solution Delivery Team in multiple IT disciplines including Functional, Non-Functional, Application, Testing, Quality Assurance and Deployment disciplines for delivering the Manhattan Associates Open Systems Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Distributed/Enterprise Order Management (DOM/EOM) and Supply Chain Intelligence (SCI) applications. You’ll bring significant experience providing software engineering supporting the design of complex and enterprise scale systems to meet business needs for an international retail company. Provide technical leadership on designs that address critical business needs of a large-scale supply chain and logistics implementation of Manhattan products across multiple sites. Your strong experience and familiarity with other critical supply chain systems will include Pick to Light, Pick to Voice, Conveyor, Slot Optimization, and Labor Management systems. Your prior supply chain operational skills will provide a basis for real-world use and testing of our software systems. Using knowledge of industry best practices and business analysis skills you will help plan, analyze and define leading solutions to our rapidly growing North American divisions

Position Description: Perform software engineering and configuration supporting the design of complex and enterprise scale systems to meet business needs for an international retail company. Provide technical leadership on designs that address critical business needs. Responsible for solution design decisions for multi-million dollar projects that impact productivity, efficiency and profitability of the company.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Provide solution architecture and technical design guidance and assistance to project teams in the configuration, testing, implementation, and support of technical solutions.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise on multiple business applications/services including: critical, highly integrated enterprise business applications/services, end to end business application processes.
  • Provide input into technical application roadmaps and design approaches to solve visible and complex business problems.
  • Provide input into design methodologies and aligns them to established standards.
  • Recommend technical solution alternatives based on variances of scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Knowledge share and transfer experience to team members.
  • Publishes and maintains standards and best practices
  • Is able to interpret functional requirements and write technical specs that can be interpreted by the development team consisting of senior to junior level programmers
  • Broad packaged application technology expertise in the Retail industry space.
  • Proven ability to implement complex solutions in the supply chain space.
  • Perform special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Master’s Degree preferred, or a directly related field plus five
  • (5) years of Information Technology experience. Experience must include:
  • Three (3) years’ experience in supply chain design, development, configuration, unit testing and implementation for medium to large scale retailers, preferably in the Manhattan Associates suite of Supply Chain systems
  • Five (5) years’ experience in Java EE/J2EE, XML, SOAP, Servlet, Web Service, Dev Ops and other relevant Java technologies, preferably in the Manhattan WMOS
  • Implementation experience with WMOS within an agile environment
  • Familiar with Manhattan Integration Framework
  • Three (3) years’ development experience of Manhattan WMOS, including SCI Reports, Jasper Reports, Multi Carrier Integrations, hands on experience configuring inbound and outbound warehouse workflows.
  • Hands on experience with SDN installation, troubleshooting environmental and performance issues
  • Experience with configuring and integrating Manhattan WMOS with Material Handling Equipment (DIF)
  • Experience with later versions of Manhattan WMOS is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle database technologies - Oracle SQL, Store Procedures, and DDL statements
  • Experience interpreting functional needs and writing or editing solution designs for new systems, systems changes, or system enhancements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Travel will be once a quarter.
