The Registered Nurse must be able to demonstrate advancedknowledge and skills in the care of his/her patients.
Each service also requires specialized skills.
The delivery of care is based on criteria that is age appropriate and is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient.
The Registered Nurse may rotate to other areas other than his/her normally assigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency The Registered Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at NSMC.
The Registered Nurse displays positive support for NSMC as well as the entire HealthONE organization.
The RN cares for Geriatric, Adult and Adolescent patients.
The Charge RN or RN designee is responsible for reviewing and signing off all assessment and reassessments performed each shift by the LPN.
The Charge Nurse Role incorporates all of the RN position as above, and includes the additional responsibilities of directing shift operations with schedules, assignments, and coordination of resources.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Colorado; current BLS.
ACLS preferred.
Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN desirable.
Experience: Minimum of two years as a staff nurse in related area of acute care nursing.
Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Standards of Nursing Practice at NSMC.
Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
Demonstrates good organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities, ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and ability to plan and provide for delivery of nursing services.
Demonstrates positive attitude and leads by example.
Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills.
Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
Responsible for staffing, scheduling, conflict resolution, performance and quality improvement.
