Interviews are being set immediately, you are encouraged to apply today! OPERATING ROOM/GI NURSE MANAGER DUTIES: * Supervises operating room staff in accordance with sound personnel management principals and the Center's policies and procedures.
Provides orientation and training for staff.
* Encourages staff toward self‑improvement.
* Counsels and disciplines employees when necessary.
* Evaluates employee job performances on a regular basis.
* Ensures that nursing care and other nursing related aspects of the Center are provided in a quality, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
* Ensures that the equipment and operations of the operating room are maintained in a manner which assures the health and safety of the staff, patients, and visitors.
* Continually evaluates physician needs with regard to supplies, instruments, and equipment, and obtains such items in accordance with HCA's guidelines and the Center's respective budget.
* Assists in implementing activities relating to Best Practices ((BP) * Ensures that the Center's operations are within all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards as relates to the operating room and ancillary departments.
* Performs nursing care and other staff functions as necessary.
* Ensures appropriate staffing of professional and ancillary staff in regards to case scheduling and budget requirements.
* Performs other duties as requested by the Center's Administrator, and assumes other appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary.
* Is a member of the Center's Quality Improvement/Risk Management and Safety Committees.
* Oversees the use controlled substances utilized in the Operating Rooms, and G.I.
rooms assuring that proper protocol is followed in ordering, receiving, storing, administering, counting, and record keeping.
* Interacts with the other Center Managers to effectively and efficiently manage the care delivery of the Center.
* Participates in organizing and executing emergency drills.
* Plans and conducts regular staff meetings.
* Manages the hiring and dismissal process of the Operating Room Staff.
* Directs the preparation of and continual updating of the departmental policy and procedure manual.
* Supports center's policy and assists in the process of policy change.
* Performs physician office visits and other marketing activities, as appropriate.
* Provides leadership for staff, promotes an environment in which all team members can work cooperatively.
* Oversees and/or administers staff scheduling and productivity, as required per facility practice.
* Understands regulatory standards (AAAHC, CMS, and OSHA) and assist in preparation for and compliance with regulatory agency inspections/audits.
* Conduct staff meetings at regular intervals for informative and educational purposes.
* Ensure the maintenance of equipment used in surgery and any ancillary equipment is done regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
* Assists with implementing on-going risk management program.
* Completes variance reports as necessary.
* Supervises and participates in inventory count, as required per facility practice.
* Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices.
* Attends all mandatory in-services, facility staff meetings and participates in emergency drills.
* Orientates and trains new employees.
* Completes annual competency and other required education as assigned.
* Maintains confidentiality and security of records and patient information at all times.
* Perform all duties and responsibilities timely and effectively in accordance with established company policies to achieve overall ASD objectives.

* Acts as Administrator Designee in Administrator's absence.

* Bachelor in Nursing strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE: * Minimum (3) years direct RN experience; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center surgical setting.
* Minimum (1) year clinical supervisory experience.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: * Active RN license as required by state of employment.
* Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
