Job Description

Job Summary:

The Receptionist Reg Med Asst, assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse.
    Performs select clinical duties.
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
    Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
    Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Obtain medical histories, vital signs and recording into electronic health record.
  • Preparing patients for examination and assisting the physician during the examination.
    Prepare exam rooms to include ordering/stocking supplies.
  • Oversee clinical quality initiatives are current; assist with closing care gaps.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • Other Duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s): Certified Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Will consider graduate of Medical Assistant Program or similar type program such as Multi-Skilled Assistant in lieu of Certified Medical Assistant One or more of the following: Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education and Work Experience:

  • HS or Equivalent High School Diploma or GED/Graduated from a Medical Assistant Program and obtained certification
  • 1 year of working in a medical practice.
    BLS Certified in accordance with American Heart Association.
