JOB SCOPE:This position is for the new MVNO product being resold by Verizon Wireless.
Direct supervision of a Cost Analyst in the audit, validation and coding of our Verizon Wireless invoice to ensure accurate agreements and contractual rates.
This position is critical in order to keep Wireless Telephone Voice, Data, Texting and Advance Features billing at the correct rates by Verizon Wireless.
Expert knowledge is needed in order to supervise the overall issues that will arise on a daily basis regarding wireless usage.
By not having our own network recordings we will have a special challenge in verifying minutes of use for voice, texing and Data.
This position will require the ability to take Verizon Wireless Call Detail Records and understand what occurred per event and if the records were rated correctly by Verizon.
Our IT department will create validation reports, in addiition, Ericsson will also audit Arterra who is creating the customer invoice using the same records that is being supplied to IT.
Validation, auditing and comparing will need to be performed in order to validate the invoice.
Voucher preparation and GL coding will be done monthly.
Problem solving skills will be required with this new service and continuously reviewing the results and/or variances to make sure we are not paying more than we should.
In addition, supervising and developing the Cost Anaylst in order to handle any issues that may arise.
This position requires vast knowledge of the Verizon Wireless contract terms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Reviews and approves processes utilized for inventory costing and valuation.
Directs development of and reviews cost analysis reports and works with department heads to formulate corrective actions.
•Ensures costs are being managed and allocated to correct accounts.
•Direct supervision of one Cost Analyst in all areas of invoice processing for wireless expenses.
•Oversee validation of billed rates to contractual terms.
Manage reporting geared to trend and analyzes cost at a granular level giving Management the ability to make more informed vendor decisions.•Ensure timely filing of all vendor disputes and monitor open disputes.
Schedule periodic vendor meetings to discuss status of unresolved disputes, seek resolution and escalate when necessary to secure favorable disposition.
Ensure all final account balances are resolved seeking refunds or credit transfer as necessary through to closure.•Review and Validate coding of wireless invoice by Cost Analyst to ensure proper classification within monthly financial statements•Analyze monthly cost variances and trends as reported in financial reporting systems.
Research trends and provide explanations for fluctuations.•Utilize internal controls to protect company assets/inventory.•Identify and investigate problems in Wireless financial processes as relates to recording of the monthly invoice and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.•Work with the field to identify cost differences and research variances.
Recommend cost reduction opportunities where applicable, •Prepare wireless cost forecast and budget files for review, analysis and approval from Corporate and Field personnel, as well as prepare monthly comparisons from actual to plan and note differences.•Effectively blend managerial skills with technical expertise to develop and motivate Cost Analyst to reach their highest potential.

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:•Strong experience validating Wireless records for Voice, Data, Texting and Advance Features•Experience with wireless contracts•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience required.•7 years Accounting Experience in the wireless industry •3 years Supervisory Experience ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: •Working knowledge of PeopleSoft•Wireless experience preferred•Analyze and interpret data in a detailed manner and communicate orally and in writing in a clear, concise and straightforward manner.•Communicate with all levels of management and company personnel and to handle multiple projects and tasks and maintain confidentiality.•Make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure and manage multiple projects at one time.•Prioritize and organize effectively and show judgment and to supervise and motivate others.•Knowledge of telecommunications products
