Food Services of America, a privately held broad line foodservice distributor, has an immediate opening for an Assistant Catgories Strategy Manager "ACSM" in our Corporate Category Management Department, located at our headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Through experience the ACSM will need to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for personal growth and success in our organization.

The ACSM role primarily provides support for a team of Category Strategy Managers at both our corporate and operating locations, but will also work with Category Strategy Managers to learn and understand our processes and systems. As an ACSM your experience will include, but is not limited, to data analysis, product/brand development, category management activities, AS/400 program maintenance, item category placement, and corporate-to-branch communication. As a member of the Category Management team, you will learn about foodservice, distribution logistics, foodservice products, and finance, as well as gain experience in supplier negotiation and category management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in category research and data analysis
  • Assist in preparation and auditing of corporate-managed contracts
  • Input data for corporate-managed contracts
  • Assist in preparation of the financials for product RFP’s (Requests for Proposals)
  • Assist in product/brand development
  • Assist with communication to the branch level
  • Assist with development of point-of-sale materials
  • Qualifications

  • 4-Year Bachelors Degree in Business (emphasis and Management, Marketing, Merchandising, Accounting, or Finance preferred)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Access, Outlook and SharePoint)
  • Foodservice industry and merchandising experience preferred
  • Analytical ability
  • Detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with others
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interest in developing negotiation skills
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
