Job Description: Reporting to the Director, Labor and Delivery Manager isresponsible for assisting with the overall daily operations of L&D and thePrenatal Unit (PNU) to achieve quality improvement, productivity, and patientsatisfaction goals and objectives established by upper management.
Responsibilities include: * Assist with managingdaily operations and activities of 9-bed Labor and Delivery and 7-bed PNU * Providehigh-quality patient care to and act as a liaison with patients and theirrepresentatives, physicians, and employees * Support theDirector to ensure efficient operation of the department and optimum use ofresources to maximize productivity and minimize costs * Communicate regularly with Director to gatherdata, provide consideration, ensure consistency in implementation of policiesand procedures * Assist with supervising and mentoring staff to ensure their performance andthe accomplishment of departmental responsibilities * Ensure department compliance with JCAHO and allapplicable agencies (local, state and federal) Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Nursingor equivalent preferred or working towards same, Master's degree in Nursing or Allied Healthpreferred * Current BLS and ACLS or agreement to obtain by90 day probationary period * NRP and STABLE within the first 6 months * Advanced FetalMonitoring course within first year of employment * 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery Nursing required * 1 year charge nurse or other nursing managementexperience preferred
