Job Description

Job Summary:

The RN-Staff provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans.
    Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Assess patients’ actual and potential health problems/needs based upon clinical analysis, identify gaps in care, recommend interventions and assist in discharge functions with collaborating team.
  • Follows safety standards.
    Participates in measures to ensure quality improvement within the organization.
  • Adheres to the standards of practice and performance as defined in ANA’s “Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice”
  • Qualifications

    Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s): Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York State Education Department Office of Professions obtained within 2 Weeks (14 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Preferred Credential(s):Certified Certification credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). OR other national certifications in area of speciality recognized by ANCC that are included in the Magnet DDCT
  • Education & Work Experience:

  • Diploma 
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • One year patient care experience preferred.
