About this job
Review, develop, and retrieve functional and technical specification documents, vendor quotes, drawings, and diagrams for creating electrical system designs
Revise drawings and designs based on product development requests
Perform design calculations to validate and verify component selections
Sizing of circuit breakers, fuses, control wiring, wiring duct sizing per NEC guidelines
Participate and lead design reviews on electrical system designs
Confer with engineers and design staff to interpret design concepts.
Review all applicable documentation and company procedural manuals to determine critical attributes of design.
Design and conduct bench-top tests for new and existing components to verify functionality
Configuring and tuning closed-loop control systems, diagnosing field issues, supporting prototype field commissioning
Qualifications:
Required Skills (must have):
Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, UL, and ISO guidelines and standards for sizing and specifying electrical components, wires, and cabling
Familiarity with computer aided design (CAD) tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ProE
Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, equivalent relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills (ideal candidate nice-to-have):
Knowledge and experience with AC and DC motor fundamentals, tuning closed-loop control systems, remote I/O, field bus networks, power distribution design, hydraulic system controls, and system commissioning
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, equivalent relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Electrical
