Job Description

Cashier:

The role of the Cashier is to deliver a seamless, luxury customer experience while providing cashiering efficiency and accuracy to maximize sales and productivity.

Working Conditions/Environment

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

· Ability to work flexible hours/shifts, including weekends, nights and holidays. Able to work overtime hours when necessary.

· Ability to lift 35 lbs. product shipments 5-7 times/day.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Cashiering/Selling

· Completes customer transactions in a professional, timely manner and with the highest level of respect.

· Ensures accuracy in the collection of monies in various currencies or modes of payment.

· Conducts daily cash balancing and cash drops.

· Achieves monthly allocated cashiering targets, as applicable.

· Participates in cash drawer audits, as and when requested.

Customer Experience

· Maintains a smart and well-groomed appearance (as outlined in the DFS Grooming Policy) in full DFS uniform to convey a professional image of self-confidence and competence.

o Consistently applies the DFS Apprentice to Master behaviors including identifying customer’s temperaments and flexing to their style.

o Provides consistent helpful, friendly assistance in a sincere manner.

o Maintains eye contact.

o Uses professional language at all times.

· Response to customer queries and complaints in a polite and courteous manner - refers to the manager or Manager on Duty, as appropriate.

· Familiar with store layout and directs customers to merchandise, services, and facilities as appropriate.

Teamwork

· Works cooperatively with co-workers to accomplish sales and service objectives.

· Provides manager with customer feedback.

· Treats all management and fellow team members with respect to support a healthy and positive team environment.

General

· Plans and participates in physical inventory counts, including overnight shifts as assigned.

· Maintains light housekeeping, ensuring retail areas and storerooms are neat, clean, hazard-free and dust-free.

· Adheres to established health and safety policy and other DFS company policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Adheres to policies and procedures as directed and required by company management and airport and customs regulations.

· Attends meetings, training & store briefings when required, to gain greater knowledge of the business and product.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Educational Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Work Experience

1 year cashiering or sales experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications required

Critical knowledge & skills, including software applications, languages, etc.

· Proficient in operating a POS register machine and mobile POS.

· Demonstrable customer service skills.

· Strong verbal communication skills.

· Demonstrates an understanding of a luxury service environment.

· Language: Bilingual skills including fluency in English a must.
