Job Description

Service Attendant:

Day Shift – 8:00AM to 3:00 PM

1. Arrive on site thirty minutes prior to opening building for daily business; clock in on time clock, turn on lights, deactivate alarm system and inspect all equipment and premises for cleanliness and functionality.

2. Unlock south front door for public entrance at 9:00 AM sharp.

3. Greet customers upon arrival and assist with bringing clothes from vehicle into building if necessary.

4. Explain capacity, operation and service pricing of equipment to customers who are unfamiliar with facility. Explain operation of Easy Card vendor and how to use the card to start the equipment.

5. Receive laundry from customers who prefer to use the “Drop off Laundry Service “rather than do their own laundry. Complete all necessary paperwork for receiving and tracking of drop off laundry (maintain Drop off Log Book). Receive payment for services from customers who prefer to pay upon dropping off laundry.

6. Process drop off laundry (wash, dry, fold and/ or hang); tag and place in storage area ready for customer to receive upon return. 

7. Return processed laundry to customers returning to pick up laundry dropped off the previous day or earlier in the day (maintain Drop off Log Book). Receive payment for services from customers who pay upon picking up laundry.

8. Conduct over the counter sales of specialty items (laundry bags, soap, stain removers, etc.) as necessary.

9. Stock vending machines (detergents, bleach, bags, cold drinks, snacks, etc.) as necessary.

10. Assist customers in moving clothes from washing machines to dryers and from facility to vehicle when necessary.

11. Maintain cleanliness of facility and equipment throughout the shift; sweeping and / or mopping and wiping down equipment will be required throughout the day to maintain appearance and a safe environment within and around the facility. Tag and report any equipment malfunctions to manager.

12. Count register in preparation for turning over to next shift.  Record cash register transactions on form provided and turn over shift.

13. Provide crossover notes and review with next shift coming to work.

14. Any and all other duties related to operation of facility and service to customers requested by management.  

 

Evening Shift – 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM

All duties outlined above in the day shift will apply to the evening shift including the following:

1. Turn on all necessary lighting inside and outside the building as appropriate to maintain a well lighted and secure atmosphere for employees and customers.

2. Set south entrance door to “Exit” at 9:30 PM for last wash and inform remaining customers that you have done so and that they need to notify you if they need to exit and return to the building

3. Adjust lighting for night time closure and activate alarm system upon exiting the facility.

  4. Any and all other duties related to operation of facility and service to customers requested by management.  

 

 

Candidate Requirements:

1. Character – trustworthy, honest, dependable and willing to work hard to accomplish assigned duties.

2. High school graduate or GED equivalent.

3. Basic computer knowledge / skills

4. Valid US Drivers license and reliable transportation to and from work site.

5. Good communication skills (English required-Spanish beneficial).

6. Cheerful disposition, even tempered with capability of greeting the public and making customers feel welcome and comfortable. (Public servant attitude). A courteous and respectful attitude not only with our customers but with your fellow employees is a requirement (not optional) in our organization.

7. Physically capable of lifting and carrying fifty pounds regularly throughout the work period.

8. Neat, well groomed personal appearance.

9. Must have means of communication – (telephone)

 

Job Capsule:

The service Attendant will be responsible for the daily operation of the magnetic card operated laundry facility. This will include assisting customers with their needs, training customers on operation of the equipment and actually processing laundry brought in and left for us to process. Attendant will also be responsible for keeping facility and equipment clean and safe throughout their shift. Duties will require lifting and moving loads up to fifty pounds in such activities as processing drop off laundry and stocking vending machines.
