Regional Vice President/General Manager, Eastern Region – Orlando, Florida

 

The Regional VP/General Manager, under the direction of the CEO, is primarily responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations in the East Region. As an experienced manager in the manufacturing/reconditioning industry, he or she will draw on a broad, up-to-date knowledge of the industry. The Regional VP/General Manager will set both short-term and long-term objectives for the company. The incumbent will ensure that company objectives are achieved by guaranteeing that all necessary resources are available and allocated correctly, and that processes and protocols are in place, properly communicated, and followed. The Regional VP/General Manager will serve as an intermediary between employees and upper management and provide leadership and guidance to all direct reports. A key element of this position is the ability to assemble and develop an effective management team that will be directly responsible for all aspects of producing, marketing, and selling the company’s products and services. The job duties will be to:

  • Establish objectives for the company and formulate or approve policies and programs
  • Coordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments
  • Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions
  • Build and develop an effective management team capable of executing the company’s identified strategies
  • Recruit, select, coach, and discipline managers to increase management’s effectiveness
  • Allocate materials and human/financial resources to implement company policies and programs; establish financial and administrative controls; approve overall personnel planning
  • Implement and drive lean manufacturing concepts throughout the manufacturing/reconditioning process
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas requiring improvement
  • Identify, analyze, and implement cost reduction strategies that contribute to the production facility’s efficient and profitable operation
  • Understand, implement, and enforce the company’s safety and environmental programs at all times
  • Oversee activities directly related to the manufacturing/reconditioning and supply of products, as well as the sales and marketing of products
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the operations of establishments engaged in wholesale and retail sales
  • Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes, and the effect of competitors’ operations on sales
  • Represent the company, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the company, in negotiations or at other official functions
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential
  • Keep personal job knowledge up-to-date by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations
  • Enhance the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
  • Other duties as assigned

 

If you have the following, we’d love to hear from you:

 

  • A university degree or college diploma in engineering, business administration, commerce, or other relevant discipline
  • Ten (10) years of work experience in a managerial capacity in a manufacturing, heavy industrial, multi plant environment a key success factor
  • Specialization in a particular functional area would be considered an asset
  • Excellent understanding of sales, finance, and management
  • Proven record of performance with set goals
  • Excellent oral, written, and listening skills
  • Judgment and decision making skills with the ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the appropriate option
  • Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve performance to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Efficient knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, email software, and use of the internet
  • Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and provide feedback to employees, as well as accepting and acting on feedback from employees
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and use time effectively in order to set action plans to achieve business targets
  • 50% travel will be required
