Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Plans, develops and implements the Plant and Company policies and goals.

• Coordinates activities of divisions or departments such as operating, manufacturing, administration, planning, sales, maintenance, or research and development, to effect operational efficiency and economy.

• Works with sales team in the promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.

• Develops Operations location budget and identifies areas in which improvements can be made. Ensures Plant operates within budget parameters.

• Has full P&L responsibility.

• Consults with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.

• Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operational changes to be implemented.

• Directs Location Safety Program.

• Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.

• Directs all aspects of manufacturing operations for the plant or facility in order to produce cost-effective, timely and high-quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary working environment.

• Manage and implement lean initiatives/continuous improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize profits to achieve goals and objectives.

• Oversees practices for hiring, performance management and developing/training the personnel that perform and support the plant operating functions.

• Directs development of production work schedules to meet internal goals and customer expectations; monitors process and personnel performance of scheduled work activities to remove operating impediments and achieve established operating goals.

• Monitors operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met/followed.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinates who supervise employees in Production, Office Administration, and Sales. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or min of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
