Job Description

Summary:

  • The Stockroom Clerk 1 will support varied material control functions, to include the stockroom and possible shipping/receiving duties.
  • Facilities, maintenance and/or safety experience a plus.
  • While in the stockroom, an employee will receive stock, cycle count and issue material.
  • Checking for incoming material against accompanying documents, close work orders in computer, issue kits for assembly, fill back orders, perform cycle counts and physical inventories as assigned.
  • When in shipping/receiving, will count and verify incoming materials and supplies.
  • Enter materials and supplies into computerized receiving system.
  • Packaging duties include boxing, wrapping, palletizing and crating.
  • Employees are responsible for keeping all work areas neat and organized.
  • Stockroom Clerk may also be required to make pick-ups and deliveries using the company vehicles.
  • Facilities, maintenance and/or safety duties as required.

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be eligible to obtain DoD Security Clearance and be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Minimum 1 years experience with computerized receiving systems and/or 1 years experience with computerized inventory systems.
  • minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training and basic knowledge of stockroom and shipping/receiving functions.
  • Requires experience handling precision machine parts, metal finishes and assemblies.
  • Experience handling ESD sensitive electronic components is desirable.
  • Must have experience with material handling equipment, digital weigh-counting scales, basic computer data entry and e-mail.
  • Requires experience in palletizing and packaging.
  • Position requires the ability to frequently or constantly exert 20 pounds of force to move or lift objects and occasionally to exert up to 50 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Proof of forklift driver training and/or experience required.
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Requires the ability to write neatly and speak on the telephone effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Position requires good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Basic math skills needed.
