Job Description – Production. NOTE THIS IS A 20 HOURS per WEEK POSITION WHICH COULD POSSIBLY TURN TO FULL TIME
The Laundry Production personnel moves textiles through the linen process utilizing laundry finishing equipment such as ironers, dryers, washers and feeders, hand folds textiles, loads & unloads carts, and performs custodial duties as required. The production employee reports to the Lead and Assistant Supervisor.
Scope of Position
· Operate linen finishing equipment such as ironers, dryers, washers and feeders according to production, quality and safety standards
· Clean personal work area and public areas (lunch room, stock room) each day
· Sort linens of different sizes and also stained and torn linens
· Any other task associated with the laundry finishing, folding, and cart make-up process
· Wash, dry, iron, and fold items as needed
· From time to time other tasks may be assigned that are associated with the production operation of the laundry facility
Requirements
· Ability to operate the finishing equipment as trained
· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
· Must be able to stand, walk and stretch for long periods
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability to maintain the production standards set forth by the Production Manager
· Ability to work reliably and consistently with the least amount of supervision
