Job Title: Stock Clerk

Reports To: Receiving Manager and Assistant General Manager

Job Description: Receive, store and maintain merchandise. Stock shelves and racks with merchandise/stock. Learn brands, ingredients and location of items offered by the store. Also responsible for taking a physical count of merchandise/stock.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Stock shelves and racks with merchandise in both refrigerated and non-refrigerated aisles.

2. Receive, open, unpack and stock merchandise.

3. Participates in inventory management through both computer systems and physical stocking of racks in warehouse. Ordering management includes but is not limited to: i. grocery, freezer items, refrigerated items (drinks & dair), cheese & deli items, ii, kitchen products, iii. non-perishable and canned goods, and iv. Bread orders and cutting/bagging on appropriate days

4. Take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.

5. Assist with unloading trucks and checking in merchandise. Count merchandise. Assist with ensuring the creation and maintenance of departmental work schedules.

6. Ability to work well independently.

7. Provide exceptional customer service meeting the Altomonte’s brand. This includes listening to requests and potentially providing the products not found currently on the store shelf.

8. Acts as a leader through both action and behavior.

9. Provides support as needed to all departments.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Previous stock clerk or related work preferred.

2. Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally: exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to enter/work in warm &/or refrigerated environments and outdoors to facilitate unloading of product from trucks.
