We are currently seeking to fill the DIRECT HIRE position of Sr. Quality Control Tech.

 

Summary Description:

Provide support to the Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager by performing technical and complex activities. Perform chemical and/or mechanical tests.  Coordinate external testing.   Make scrap determinations.  Provide technical training.  Record data.  Generate Certificates of Conformance.

Essential Functions:

Ø  Carry out all duties and responsibilities with an emphasis on safety and quality to ensure that castings meet customer expectations 100%

Ø  Interpret procedures, specifications and drawings; develop and approve techniques; write and approve procedures.

Ø  Train Quality Control Technicians in Tensile testing, Sand testing and other mechanical testing.

Ø  Perform Tensile testing and other testing, as required.

Ø  Perform Solidity cuts, as required.

Ø  Maintain equipment, including calibration requirements.

Ø  Perform gauge or dimensional inspection.

Ø  Organize and send castings to external laboratories for AAR and other testing.

Ø  Update various databases and distribute results.

Ø  Generate Certifications and Certificates of Conformance from a variety of data systems.

Ø  Use expertise to evaluate castings and determine scrap versus repairable product.

Ø  Fill-in for supervisor as requested

Ø  Perform any and all other job related tasks, as assigned

Skills or Experience Required:

Must have three (3) years of experience with steel casting inspection, testing or evaluation. Knowledge AAR foundry requirements and SCRATA inspections is desired.

Previous experience in heavy industry is desired.

Other Position Demands or Requirements:

Must be able to conduct or direct the training or examination of others.

Must be able to write routine reports and complete job logs.

Proficiency in computer software/Microsoft Office suite data base is preferred.
