QA / QC Supervisor

Do you have a keen sense of detail? Have you performed process inspections and developed quality standard practices? Have you helped fix QA or QC problems at a food production company? If so, we may have the right opportunity in Quality Control / Quality Assurance for you with a growing, forward-thinking food company.

Primary Duties

  • Responsible for Quality Control & Quality Assurance of products
  • Implement reporting requirements and corrective action plans.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, for all production related duties. Also, assist with pre-operational process
  • Verify different aspects of the production process including ingredient inspection, packaging inspection and finished product release through sample collecting, critical control points (CCP) checkups, etc. according to SOPs.
  • Perform in-process and final product inspection including CCP checkups completeness, label check, weight check, and visual inspection
  • Inspect various incoming products and raw materials. Identify and control non-conforming materials
  • Assist with document control including organize, file and review QA documents
  • Address any questions, concerns and inquiries about food safety and quality assurance in a timely manner
  • Responsible for successfully passing external audits and regulatory requirements
  • Perform receipt of QC samples, including processing and distribution to QC labs
  • Perform QC/QA review of all potential new suppliers and co-packers.
Requirements
  • At least two (2) years of experience in production and QC/QA in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience in a food production/packing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Spanish required
  • Comfortable with numbers, weight conversion.
  • Knowledge of FDA Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
  • Knowledge of cGMP/HACCP
  • Physical requirement including frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to travel nationwide for QC checks at co-packers or new co-packer set up
