Normal Work Schedule

Note: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management, while generally as shown

Below, may be changed ( increased or decreased ) by management as needed.

Hours of Work: Dependent on shift schedule at the facility. Normally 1 hour before shift start-up and 1 hour after production ends.Days of Work: Normally Monday through Friday or as scheduled by management and Saturdays, Sundays, and / or Holidays if needed by operations and approved by management. Assignment to alternate shifts on an as needed basis as determined by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The minimum Formal Education preferred to be considered for this position is (indicated level and years of education and, if a degree is required, the major): College degree required. High School diploma or equivalent mandatory, with strong reading, math, writing, and analytical skills. Computer literate .

Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the position include:

Management - the ability to organize multiple protocols / projects and complete on schedule.

The minimum number of Years and/or Months of Prior and Related experience preferred to be considered for this position is:5 years experience in poultry/meat mfg, experience in further processing. Must have management experience in food industry.

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The overall purpose of this position, i.e., what it accomplishes at Perdue and/or why it exists is: Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of production associates to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner, and for promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the production group.

PRINCIPAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Describe below the major responsibilities of this position which must be fulfilled with or without reasonable accommodations in order to achieve the essential purpose of this position.

1. Train, direct, and develop subordinates to meet operating, safety, and quality requirements within the department / area.

2. Supervises production staff to ensure product quality and integrity, and ensures all finished product meets or exceeds customer requirements

3. Creates and maintains an environment that is conducive to retaining associates. Consistently administers company policies and procedures.

4. Support and promote the company's annual People, Products, and Profitability goals through effective and efficient planning, communication, coaching, training, and overall direction of the workforce.

5. Creates and implements , with management approval, new ideas and methods to improve production efficiencies, CSI, QI, 6. Support the 3 P's. People - Turnover, Safety, Associate Engagement; Products - Quality and consistency of products; Profitability - Contribute to achievement of Key Initiatives.afety Scorecard.

DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has the authority to make day-to-day decisions within their work team, based upon established policies and procedures.

OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

This position spends 60 % of a normal workweek supervising other Associates.

This position spends 30 % of a normal workweek training and developing other Associates.

This position spends 5 % of a normal workweek performing technical analyses and writing reports.

This position spends 5 % of a normal workweek in production or maintenance-related activities.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:

Moving and working on wet, dry, moist floors which included metal and plastic grating surfaces, up to 4 hours in a single interval. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Exposures to all elements of an outdoor environment. Exposure to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Both ambient and 100% humidity. Exposure to noise levels of 50 db to 110 db. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distances, degrees, angle, weights, height, intervals of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the task being performed. Exposure to all chemicals found in a poultry, food processing plant. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the company. Required to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and/or business.
