The Job

As the Maintenance Technician I you will perform minor repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a senior technician or maintenance manager. Some responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform general maintenance duties on building and equipment. May discuss equipment operation variations with managers or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair the equipment.
  • Assists in servicing and replacing minor plumbing fixtures and drain rodding.
  • Performs minor electrical work such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts and fuses.
  • Assists in minor carpentry and repair work.
  • Maintain equipment and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order.
  • Assist with all types of equipment movement, cubicle and office furniture repairs.
  • Applies paint, varnish, and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Performs related duties as required and follow Company specified job specifications, standards and task list.
  • Ensures that a high level of safety is adhered to at all times within the campus.
What you need to succeed
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum (1) year experience in a similar role with general knowledge of building systems and repairs.
  • Technical or vocational certification preferred in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building controls, drywall/taping, painting, plumbing or carpentry.
  • Highly motivated individual who is customer service oriented.
  • Ability to work well on a team.
  • A basic understanding of technology and has utilizes MS Office and CMMS systems.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manages time wisely and reports to work at scheduled start and end time.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse operations and has the ability to occasionally work in Woodridge, Il.
  • Understands and utilizes common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given and work under direct supervision.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs and push/pull 100lbs, walk & stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, work on elevated platforms, climb up & down ladders, work at elevated heights.
