A successful Business Operations Analyst candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from four-year College or technical school, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics, and 2+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts (statistics, probabilities, algebraic expressions, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint with some knowledge of database basics and ERP systems helpful (e.g. Microsoft Access, SQL, Oracle, Essbase/Hyperion, etc.).
  • Experience with or ability to work in a fast paced, high throughput environment with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Well-developed oral and written presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable and easy-to-follow presentation materials.

A Business Operations Analyst position in the Billing and Credit department serves as a part of the Finance team supporting Billing, Payments, Bad Debt, and G&A expenses. The Finance team is responsible for month end journal entries, annual budgeting, financial reporting and variance analysis, forecasting operational and financial performance metrics, and ad-hoc analysis related to cost-savings opportunities and initiatives. In addition, this position will be expected to work independently with teams both inside and outside of the department in order to implement process improvement ideas, improve reporting accuracy and timing, and provide impact analysis on projects.

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Develop and maintain annual budget models for Billing, Payments, Bad Debt, and G&A expenses for the Billing and Credit department.
  • Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting, including analysis of variances in actual performance to budget and operational key metric goals.
  • Develop financial reports to monitor key metrics and interprets financial results in order to seek out areas of concern and/or opportunity.
  • Perform financial and strategic analyses, in collaboration with other Billing and Credit teams, to improve performance and determine the impact of initiatives.
  • Create and deliver financial presentations to management by developing financial reports to monitor key operational metrics, interpret financial results and seeks out areas of concern and opportunity.
