As the individual with primary responsibility for the Environmental, Health and Safety of the MECO Mandeville facility, the EHS Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the development of our OHS policies, be able to identify potential safety and environmental hazards and implement policies needed to ensure a safe working environment. We are seeking someone with the ability to interface with all levels of employees, provide effective training and provide sound advice on various safety-related topics.  This position will also be responsible for inspections, stopping any observed unsafe acts or processes, conducting accident investigations and maintaining all OSHA related records. The EHS Coordinator will be Hazmat certified and have the experience necessary to file Tier II reports. The minimum qualifications for this position are: Bachelor's degree in  safety science, engineering or related field5+ years of experience in an industrial safety or EHS positionKnowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and proceduresExperience with ISO 14001, 45001Strong computer and analytic skills We would prefer this individual to be: Certified Safety ProfessionalHazmat Certified This position requires an individual with excellent communication, strong organizational skills and pays the utmost attention to detail.  While the EHS Coordinator will work primarily with the manufacturing and materials area; he/she will be responsible for overall safety, including the staff office.  This position may be physically demanding requiring the ability to stand and walk for a significant portion of the day.  Also involved may be body movements such as bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, crawling and working overhead.  There may be occasions when the individual may be required up to 30 pounds.  Visual acuity and the ability to hear and speak clearly are necessary. This is a full-time, staff position and does not include relocation.
