The Supervisor assumes the functions of theDirector of Surgery in his/her absence.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to demonstrate understanding of nationalpatient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols andprocedures as required by both HCA and Round Rock Medical Center.
Demonstrates effectiveworking knowledge of equipment needed for patient care; participates in budgetcontrol by using only those supplies necessary for quality patient care; makesdecisions of moderate difficulty; has direct contact with family members,physicians, hospital employees, and outside healthcare related persons; alwaysmaintains confidentiality regarding patient information; accepts shift work andtakes call on weekends and holidays as needed by the department; works withpatients ranging in life span from infant to geriatric; collaborates with otherhealthcare professionals in delivering individualized optimal care to scheduledpatients.
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St.David's "Patient First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safetyprotocols and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required: RNwith minimum of three years O.R.
experience.
Preferred: B.S.N.
with minimum of three years supervisory experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Required: Licensed by the Texas State Board ofNurse Examiners AHA BLS at time ofhire.
AHA ACLS w/in 6 months of hire fornew employees.
Preferred: CNOR
