JobSummary The Emergency Department RN providesdirect nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures andprotocols of the healthcare organization.
The tasks and responsibilitiesinclude: Assesses, plansand evaluates patient care needs.
Prioritizespatient care based on acuity level and available resources.
Carries outphysician orders.
Assists physicianduring examination, treatment and procedures.
Administersprescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.
Serves as theprimary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.
Monitors, recordsand communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerizeddocumentation systems. Instructs andeducates patients and families.
Assesses andcoordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcareteam.
Provides age andculturally appropriate care. Orients andmentors new staff members.
Follows StandardPrecautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Requirements: Florida RNLicense BLScertification required and ACLS, PALS Certifications required 2-3 years ofrecent ED experience in an acute care facility.
Charge Nurse experience in the ED Customer serviceabilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinkingskills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in afast paced environment.
Ability toperform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting,kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
