As an HVAC Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring company energy conservation & comfort standards are maintained through monitoring and programming of computerized building automation systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure all existing energy management systems are fully functional:

    Troubleshoot all equipment failures.

    Instruct technicians on correct diagnostic procedures and part replacement.

    Ship replacement parts to stores as necessary, follows up on receipt, service and return of malfunctioning equipment.

    Maintain supply of replacement parts.

    Work with the Systems Help Desk to resolve telephone/ethernet communication issues.

    Track credits and invoices for equipment costs.

  • Provide Energy Management System (EMS) programming support:

    Respond to communications from store management regarding comfort or timing problems.

    Assume responsibility for issues escalated by the Energy Management Administrators.

    Determine appropriate response and initiates corrective actions through EMS programming and/or coordinating service with EMS vendors, HVAC vendors, Construction Department associates, and Store Management.

    Follow up with Store Management to insure satisfaction.

    Program scheduling changes as necessary.

    Provide emergency support for store comfort problems during night and weekend hours.

  • Review and negotiates HVAC repair proposals.

    Determine appropriate whether labor and material charges are appropriate

    Researche warranty status

    Obtain multiple quotes when required

    Follow up with vendor on work completion

  • Oversee status of EMS work in new construction, remodel, retrofit, relocating, or closing locations:

    Ensure new store programs are received prior to store opening.

    Order equipment, hires contractors, and creates and downloads the programs for non-turnkey retrofits.

    Follow up on phoneline and ethernet communications issues.

    Perform a full check out of all mechanical equipment and notifies project manager, mechanical contractor, or EMS vendor as necessary and follows up to confirm repairs are made.

    Requirements:
  • Basic Technical knowledge of HVAC
  • Through knowledge of energy management control technologies
  • Problem solving ability
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring theory
  • Basic knowledge of communication wiring
  • Knowledge of retail industry
  • Personal Computer skills
  • Written and oral communications skills
