About this job

We are supporting a client in Annapolis Junction, MD. They are looking to bring on a Benefits Analyst to support their HR team. Please see below for more information about the role and the daily responsibilities:

Day to day:

  • Under minimal supervision, the Benefits Analyst assists with the implementation, administration and the provision of information to operational and field HR staff on retirement plans, health and welfare insurance plans, income replacement (short and long term disability), employee assistance programs, retirement plan and various other benefits policies and programs
  • Qualified to provide the administration of corporate benefits and systems, and provides day to day consultation with employees and line management on all related issues
  • Implements and administers corporate benefits policies, programs and practices that continue to attract and retain a highly qualified workforce
  • Assists line management in administering their benefits programs, providing interpretation and guidance directly to employees and through the HR staff
  • Processes and ensures accurate and timely benefit eligibility and participation data
  • Utilizes PeopleSoft system to transfers benefit data
  • Implements benefits policies and strategies for deploying expatriates abroad
  • Monitors third party administration for benefits plans
  • Researches escalated benefit issues with employees and benefit vendors
  • Takes action to solve problems/issues that routinely arise in areas of assigned responsibility
  • Conducts and/or participates in meetings
  • Participates in the planning, developing, and redesigning company benefits programs and analyzing benefits costs

Qualifications Needed:

  • 2+ years of experience with HR Benefits (global knowledge is preferred, but not required)
  • Requires in-depth and practical knowledge of a wide variety of benefit techniques, health and welfare insurance plans, retirement/pension funding
  • Bachelor's degree in a related business or technical discipline
  • Ability to run PeopleSoft reports and conduct data analysis
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
