Position is within a large-sized, industrial chemical manufacturing plant.
Team culture: Between the 2 shifts, 1st shift is a little more family oriented, work together. More experienced people are on this shift.
2nd shift: More individualists, and less about working with others. Trying to find someone that can help band the shift together more.
13 current operators on staff, and 15 at full capacity. Without these individuals the operators have to pick up the extra load. This requires more work and extended hours.
Typical hours are 4:00pm-12:30am. Each shift will depend on how much product they need to get out. Because our client is a contract manufacturer, the workload changes daily. They make sure that operators will work around 50 hours/week, whether they are fully staffed or not.
Duties:
- Follow batch tickets to fill drums with chemicals
- Operate semi-automated filling machine to fill drums
- Load and unload tanks and tank trucks
- Connect hoses, pumps and valves to transfer chemicals between tanks and drums
- Fill out manufacturing paperwork and checklists
- Label drums appropriately
Education: HS Diploma
6 months experience with a forklift.
1-3 years experience mixing and blending (chemicals preferred, though open to food - IG. Paint, chemicals, food, pharma, etc)
