Aerotek is looking for avionics technicians to work a project with a government contractor in the Lake Charles, LA area. Work will be performed on large fixed wing aircraft.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Avionics Technician
- Candidate shall inspect, maintain, repair, align, calibrate, and demonstrate knowledge of operation and functional test of systems and system equipment related to avionics on the JSTARS (707) aircraft including knowledge and use of applicable publications.
- Candidate must be familiar with Radar, Displays, Mission Computer, IFF, VHF/UHF/HF radios, data links, 1553B data busses, navigations systems, voice and data encryption devices, and overall system interfaces.
- Post-flight incoming and pre-flight outgoing avionics checks.
- Install and troubleshoot avionics/electrical discrepancies and O/A squawks.
- Operate and repair various pneumatic, hydraulic, and aerial refueling systems.
- Generate and revise discrepancy work cards
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be skilled in reading blueprints
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of avionics experience in the aviation/aerospace industry with at least five years in an MRO environment.
- Candidates with avionics experience on wide body aircraft are preferred
The compensation is $28.50/hr. for the straight time plus $123/day in per diem for up to five days out of the week ($615 cap per week) for eligible candidates. Total pay for per diem-eligible candidates is $43.88 for the 1st 40 hours. Overtime rate is $42.75/hr.
