About this job
The Purchasing Clerk will create, place, verify, send, and track orders. Compiles information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and services.
- Execute Purchase Orders and Requisitions to obtain materials, components and equipment, consistent with the production plan.
- Expedite Purchase Orders as Necessary.
- Arrange shipping companies to delivery and meet production needs in forecasting purchases.
- Coordinate with shipping department receipt and storage of material.
- Maintain filing system for all requisitions, purchase orders and organization of records room.
- Responsible for negotiating on product for the production line.
- Advanced Excel Reporting
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of purchasing experience
- Experience with US Customs Border and Protection, importing and exporting is needed to keep production on schedule.
- HS Diploma Required.
- Must be able to negotiate with vendors.
- Working knowledge and conversion of the Metric System to US units.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, ratios and percentages.
- Expert level working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office products .
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Attention to detail
